Water service accounts are opened and billed by the City of Sunrise, as Weston purchases its water from the City of Sunrise Utilities Department.

Garbage & recycling collection is automatically initiated when you open a water service account. Garbage & recycling collection fees are placed onto your annual tax bill.

Can I pay the city to fix my water line?
No, the city does not fix lines that is on private property and owned by the property owner.
Can you check my water usage?
No, you will need to contact Sunrise.
Can you recommend a plumber?No, city policy prohibits us from recommending contractors.
Do I need a licensed plumber?No, but it is recommended.
I am a contractor and need a temporary meter to do pressure cleaning for several homes?You can call 954-385-2600 to schedule an appointment. Items to bring are: permit card, property address with property description and check. Meters are usually attached to a hydrant therefore; the exact location would imperative. Once our application is processed and approved, it is sent to the City of Sunrise who will call you and ask that you go in to process their side of the application. When this part is completed, the City of Sunrise will send us the authorization to install the meter for you. Our Water and Sewer team will finalize the process.
I can’t use any of the showers or sinks because something is blocking it, should I call a plumber or can the City help me?Always call the City first as our team will investigate what is causing the issue and if it’s on the City’s maintained portion of the service lateral then it is the City’s responsibility. If the City finds that it is on private property, then you will be advised accordingly.
I have a sewer backup, do I call a plumber?Before calling a plumber, PLEASE CALL THE PUBLIC WORKS SERVICES CENTER AT 954-385-2600.
I need to shut off my water, who would I need to speak to?You need to call the City of Sunrise. They will process your request.
I’m moving to a new location within the City of Weston and need to move my service, who can do that for me?You need to call the City of Sunrise at 954-746-3232 and they will process your request.
My meter box is full of water but I don’t know where is coming from, can someone come out and check?A service request will be produced to have our Water and Sewer team address this issue.
My street is flooding and the drain is clogged.If you live in a gated community, then stormwater drains aka catch basins are maintained by your Homeowners Association. Please contact your property maintenance manager.
My toilet is backing up?Check your other toilets. Is they are backing up also, immediately call the City of Weston, Public Services Center at 954-385-2600. If is it after hours, press the option for the emergency line.
There is a leak in my house?Each house or structure should have a “Turn-off” house valve on side of house.
What if I called the plumber first and the issue is on the City’s side?The City will fix the problem but you will not be reimbursed the cost for having a plumber respond.
Why am I responsible for fixing my leaking house water line?The city is responsible from the water meter to the street, we did not install or repair the portion of the water line/pipe from the water meter towards your house. i.e, the house line.
Why are you wasting all that water from the hydrant?We annually clear the sediment from the water lines.
Why is my water bill so high?Please check with the City of Sunrise to see your history. If you still are concerned, you may have a leak on your house line.
Why is my water yellow?The water line stirred up some sediment and you happened to be using water at the same time.
I am calling from a title company and need a lien search on a water service account, who should I call?
You need to call the City of Sunrise as they are the only ones who have access to resident account information. Their number is 954-746-3232.
