Fabio A. Andrade was elected as Weston City Commissioner for Seat 1 in November 2024, setting a record for the highest number of votes ever received by a commissioner in the city’s history. His commitment to unity, collaborative leadership, and bipartisan advocacy reflects over 23 years of service to the community. This dedication inspired unprecedented support across party lines and engaged many first-time voters.

As a long-time Weston resident, Commissioner Andrade has held key civic roles, including serving on the Weston Charter Commission by appointment of Mayor Brown, the Weston Planning and Zoning Board, and several Broward County and Florida State boards. His contributions to the Broward County Transportation Committee and Florida Dental Board highlight his broad influence on local and state initiatives.

Beyond public office, Andrade co-founded the Americas Community Center (ACC) in 1998, a nonprofit that has supported over 15,000 Hispanic professionals with business challenges and job opportunities. Partnering with leaders like Rick and Rita Case, he has championed small businesses and helped secure humanitarian visas for Venezuelans and Colombians in collaboration with figures such as Congressman Lincoln Diaz-Balart and Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen & Senator Bob Graham.

His dedication to community engagement extends to serving as Vice President of the Girls Division for AYSO for 12 years, coaching Weston Travel League soccer, and actively participating on the Weston Business Council for the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce. Through Americas Business Networking, Andrade continues to empower local entrepreneurs by providing vital business resources and advice.

In addition to his public service, Andrade boasts a distinguished 40-year career in aviation, holding pivotal roles at JetBlue Airways and Grupo TACA. He was instrumental in JetBlue’s launch at Fort Lauderdale International Airport and now serves as Vice President of Public and Community Relations for World Atlantic Airlines.

As an advocate & advisor on U.S.-Colombia relations for Florida’s Congressional delegation, Andrade has championed the needs of Weston’s growing Latin American population. His leadership reflects a deep understanding of the challenges faced by residents from Colombia, Venezuela, Argentina, and Brazil, fostering greater inclusivity and engagement within Weston’s diverse community.

A Weston resident since 1996, Andrade has been married to his wife, Lucia, for 44 years. Together, they have raised two daughters, Cassandra and Alexis, both Broward County Public School graduates in Weston, and are proud grandparents of six. In his free time, he enjoys cycling with the Americas Cycling Group, attending community events, and supporting local businesses.
