Tom Kallman is a longtime insurance professional, public servant and civic activist in the City of Weston and Broward County. He was elected to the City of Weston Commission-District 2 in 2012 without opposition, after serving as chair of the City's Business Tax Board. He was re-elected to office without opposition  again in 2016.

Commissioner Kallman is principal and president of Kallman Insurance Agency, a company he started four years after moving to Weston in 1994. He has not only built a successful business, but has become a leader in the community.

Commissioner Kallman was a former Board of Director's for the Broward League of Cities.  Commissioner Kallman served as the Director of the Weston Arts Council, and a former Director and chairman of the Weston Business Council, an organization he helped establish in 2001.  A proud member of the Rotary Club of Weston since 1998, he created and produced 10 major outdoor concerts in the Weston Regional Park which grew into one of the largest free outdoor concert events in all of Broward County.

In the early 2000's, the School Board of Broward County appointed Commissioner Kallman to the Facilities Task Force.  In 2009, he was appointed by the School Board as its only countywide citizen representative to the Broward County Value Adjustment Board.  A few years before, he was appointed by the Florida Bar to a three-year term on the 17th Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee, which investigates possible lawyer misconduct and makes recommendations on discipline.  He was one of three non-lawyers on the Committee.

Commissioner Kallman maintains his close ties to his beloved University of Miami Hurricanes, having served as a committee member for the Sports Hall of Fame for many years.  He also spent several years on UM's Hurricane Club Board of Directors.

In his professional life, Commissioner Kallman has been in the commercial insurance business since 1980, after earning his degree from Ithaca College in New York.  Right after college, he worked as an adjuster in Miami, but then moved back to his hometown of Poughkeepsie, NY to join his family's insurance agency.  This is also where he got his first taste of public service having been elected a city alderman for two terms.  He returned to South Florida in 1986 to accept a position as an officer with a well-known agency.  He left that job a decade later to start Kallman Insurance, which brokers property and casualty insurance for businesses and individuals.

A leader in the insurance industry, he chaired a number of committees for the Florida Association of Insurance Agents. One of the committees he spearheaded created a landmark program that allowed agents who lived in areas devastated by hurricanes to get back up and running immediately after a storm to handle claims.  Commissioner Kallman has also been a featured speaker at the Governor's Hurricane Conference and FEMA's National Hurricane Conference, and is a go-to source for media reports on insurance issues.

Kallman is married and the proud father of two adult children, one of whom, Alison, works at Kallman Insurance as an agent.  Both of his children attended public schools in Weston and participated in local youth sports.
