APRIL 20, 2026:
Starting April 20th and lasting about 2 weeks, the City of Weston will begin a 3-stage lane closure of the right-turn lane (heading Northbound, just north of Royal Palm – in front of Flanigan’s and beyond) to install drainage improvements on the east side of Weston Road.
Stage 1 will be the area before Flanigan’s driveway, closing April 27 through April 29
Stage 2 - COMPLETED - will be closing the Flanigan’s driveway (probably closed for a day or two, during which traffic will be directed further to the north to North Commerce Parkway, and
Stage 3 will be partially closing the right turn lane to North Commerce Parkway after the Flanigan’s Drive. We will not be impacting the travel lane, just the right turn lane.
Beginning of April 2026:
Our Contractor, Pedrail, is completing the widening and new sidewalk on the west side of Weston Road. The contractor will start working on the east side of Weston Road and will send pedestrian traffic between W. Corporate Lakes Blvd and South Commerce Parkway to the west, as the east sidewalk will be closed.
Additional work to occur the first week of April will be foundation work for new signalization mast arms at the South Commerce Parkway intersection. The bus stop at West Corporate Lakes Blvd remains closed as there is still construction in that area.

Your Roadway. Your Community. Our Future.
Road construction can be frustrating—traffic delays, detours, and the occasional noise can test anyone’s patience.
However, the benefits of road repaving far outweigh these temporary inconveniences, ensuring safer, smoother, and more efficient roadways for years to come.
A well-maintained road network enhances driving conditions by reducing potholes and cracks that can damage vehicles. It also improves safety by providing better traction and clearer lane markings. Additionally, today's paving techniques help extend the lifespan of roads, reducing the need for frequent repairs and unexpected closures in the future.
Beyond just a smoother ride, repaving projects contribute to the community’s overall quality of life. Improved roads mean better traffic flow, shorter commute times, and increased property values. Businesses benefit, as safer and more accessible roads encourage local shopping.
While construction may cause short-term inconveniences,
these improvements are a necessary investment in the city’s infrastructure.
We appreciate residents’ patience and cooperation as we work to build a better, safer, and more resilient roadway system for all.
