Fiscal Year 2025
VISTA PARK
Is located at 18800 Vista Park Boulevard. It is a 30-acre community park adjacent to Cypress Bay High School.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The project is the DESIGN PHASE ONLY, for a recreation complex in Vista Park (Vista Park Phase II) which includes indoor multipurpose courts/gymnasium, a running/walk upstairs track, multipurpose rooms and restrooms. The exterior shall include a shaded playground, a splash pad, multipurpose courts, shade structures, an exit drive to Vista Park Drive, parking and conversion of two soccer fields to artificial turf fields.
Project Highlights
- Benefits:
When built, the project will significantly enhance the indoor recreation opportunities for residents by introducing multipurpose rooms and indoor courts -- addressing a critical shortage identified in the Parks and Recreation Master Plan (2022). Outdoor amenities such as multipurpose courts and splash pad will become available for residents, improving convenience and access to recreation.
- Status: In Progress. The City’s architectural consultant, WJ Architects, will be taking the schematic design into the design development phase.
- Traffic Impacts: None
- Estimated Cost: $1,500,000 (design only)
Total project cost is estimated along with the Regional Park Maintenance Yard Relocation and New Pickleball Courts to be $56 million.
This cost will be separately financed and paid out over 20 to 30 years via municipal bonds. The cost of these municipal bonds, will be paid back with revenues other than property taxes.
An example cost breakout was previously shown, but no homeowner will get a bill.
A project Open House was held on June 3, 2025 at Weston City Hall to show the plans to the community and take input. You can view the schematic designs below.
