Broward County Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) Program

The City of Weston is a participating city in the County's Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) program.

PACE allows property owners to receive up-front financing and repayment of debt for qualifying improvements in energy conservation, renewable energy and wind resistance. Qualifying improvements include: rooftop solar panels, solar water heater, wind turbine, energy efficient air conditioning unit, cool roof, window replacement, insulation, and more.

Property owners voluntarily agree to the program terms for financing qualifying improvement projects, and repay through a non-ad valorem special assessment added to their property tax bill.

For qualified persons wishing to purchase a home within the City of Weston. The maximum amount of assistance is $50,000 and will be determined by need.  Households must have incomes less than 80% of Broward County's Area Median Income, adjusted by family size (Income Chart).

A buyer must first be able to obtain a first mortgage through a bank and must contribute 3% of the total costs towards the down payment, including closing costs, insurance, inspection fees, and other required fees from their own funds.  There will be no interest, and as long as the borrower owns, occupies, and maintains the home for a period of 15 years, the loan will be forgiven.
