Chief Todd Draizin came to the Broward Sheriff's Office and Weston having served in the City of Sunrise Fire Department beginning in 1986 as a Firefighter Paramedic and rising to the rank of Deputy Fire Chief from which he retired earlier this year.  

Chief Draizin was initially assigned to the Weston District in May of this year, as Assistant District Fire Chief.   Chief Bruce Angier who served the Weston community for the last four years was reassigned by BSO to their Technical Services Division effective July 21, 2018 and at that time Chief Draizin assumed command duties as Weston Fire Chief.

Chief Todd Draizin brings a wealth of leadership, experience and local knowledge to the City of Weston.  Asked about his advice for residents regarding hurricane preparedness, Chief Draizen had comments we should all strive to live by "If you are prepared you will not have to get ready for a hurricane. Recovery takes much longer than you may think; realistic expectations will help you and your family prepare for the days ahead.  In the event you and your family are separated have a communication plan for reunification and to let all know you are safe."

On the personal side, Chief Draizin has been married to his soul mate, Jacqueline, for over 12 years.  They have a blended family of four that includes Amanda (25), who will be getting married next year, and three boys - Josh (22), who is studying pediatric palliative care; Chase, (20), attending Palm Beach College, and Hunter, (17) who is in his senior year at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.  As an avid snow skier, Chief Draizin has to get out of town to enjoy hitting the slopes; closer to home, he enjoys woodworking and household projects with his family.

City Manager John Flint stated, "We look forward to Chief Draizin continuing in the traditions of all of Weston’s Chiefs, leading the men and women assigned to Weston in utilizing the latest in technology and fire and EMS protocols to constantly improve services to Weston’s residents and businesses."   We look forward to your leadership.

The City Commission honored and thanked Chief  Bruce Angier at the August 20, 2018 City Commission Meeting for his dedicated service to the residents of Weston, his leadership, and the programs implemented to educate Weston's residents on fire and life safety.   Chief Angier made a lasting impact on programs such as Weston C.E.R.T. and others.
