New City Commission
The Weston City Commission
Welcomes New Commissioner Mary Molina-Macfie and Re-elected Commissioner Byron L. Jaffe
Newly elected City Commission members were sworn into office and warmly embraced at the regularly scheduled City Commission meeting held on November 19, 2018 in front of a standing-room-only crowd in the City Commission Chambers at City Hall.
Commissioner Byron L. Jaffe was re-elected unopposed to the City Commission after having served since March 2017, elected at that time during a Special election to fill the unexpired term of Commission Seat 3. Since Commissioner Jaffe's first term of office was to fill an unexpired term of office - this will be his first full term and we welcome his continued leadership.
Commissioner Jaffe was given the Oath of Office by his son Benjamin Jaffe while his wife Beth and daughter Hannah stood at his side. Commissioner Jaffe thanked his supporters, friends, Commission colleagues, staff and most importantly - his family.
Newly elected Commissioner Mary Molina-Macfie was sworn in to office by her friend and mentor, former City Commissioner Toby Feuer, whose Commission Seat Molina-Macfie is filling. Commissioner Molina-Macfie had many to thank who supported her efforts during her campaign including student and resident volunteers, friends, Commission members and her family.
Both Jaffe and Molina-Macfie look forward to the future and working hard to better Weston in every way they can and welcome public input and support, and the City looks forward to their energy, enthusiasm and leadership along with that of our Mayor Daniel J. Stermer and Commissioners Thomas Kallman and Margaret Brown.
