WESTON, Fla. — Patients in western Broward County now have expanded access to advanced neurointerventional care as Memorial Neuroscience Institute announces the opening of a new stroke clinic in Weston.

The new location brings evaluation for highly specialized, minimally invasive treatment options closer to patients facing complex vascular and neurological vascular conditions, including brain aneurysms and carotid stenosis and other cerebrovascular disorders.

The clinic will be led by Brijesh P. Mehta, MD, Medical Director of the Comprehensive Stroke Program and NeuroInterventional Surgery at Memorial Neuroscience Institute.

Dr Mehta specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of:

Brain aneurysms

Arteriovenous malformations

Dural arteriovenous fistulas

Use the simple acronym B.E. F.A.S.T. to remember common stroke symptoms:

• F – Face: Facial drooping or numbness on one side
• A – Arms: Weakness or numbness in one arm
• S – Speech: Slurred speech or difficulty speaking
• T – Time: Time to call 911 immediately
