Hurricane season started June 1, and the City of Weston and Broward County encourages residents who may be vulnerable during an emergency to pre-register in the County’s Vulnerable Population Registry.

The registry helps emergency responders and municipalities better understand and support residents who may be at risk due to a disability, frailty, or health condition while sheltering at home.

Residents with special medical needs are also encouraged to pre-register for Broward County’s Special Needs Shelter and transportation services. Preparation ahead of time can help ensure faster, more effective assistance before, during, and after a storm.
