UPDATE - SUSPECT ARRESTED
Detectives with the Broward Sheriff's Office Weston District have arrested the suspect in a disturbing case of a man assaulting a woman while exposing himself in public.
According to BSO detectives, the 17-year-old male suspect was taken into custody on Friday, April 17, on one count of attempted sexual battery. Following the crime, BSO detectives launched an intensive and exhaustive investigation to identify and locate the suspect. Using a combination of technological resources and old-fashioned police work, detectives were able to make this arrest.
The incident occurred at approximately 4:39 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8, near the 16300 block of Golf Club Road in Weston. According to the victim, she was sitting on the grass when an unknown subject grabbed her from behind. She struggled with the attacker before he got up, put on his shoes, and the suspect fled on foot.
Surveillance footage shows a light-skinned male wearing a khaki hoodie and distinctive red and black pants exposing and pleasuring himself in an adjacent parking lot. The subject is then seen slowly approaching the victim, surveying his surroundings, and removing his shoes before grabbing her from behind.
Following his arrest, the 17-year-old male subject was transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center for processing.
Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) Weston District are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a suspect involved in a disturbing assault that occurred last week.

According to investigators, the victim was sitting on the grass when an unknown male approached her from behind and physically assaulted her. The victim fought back, and the suspect eventually disengaged, put on his shoes, and fled the scene on a nearby scooter.
Surveillance footage captured images of the suspect prior to the attack. He is described as a light-skinned male wearing a khaki hoodie and distinctive red and black pants. Video shows the individual in a nearby parking lot exposing himself before approaching the victim. He is then seen observing the area, removing his shoes, and initiating the assault.
Detectives are actively working to identify the individual and are urging anyone who may recognize him or have information about this incident to come forward.
