BSO Weston Law Enforcement Captain Sam Cavalieri and the City Commission recognized Community Service Aide, William “Les” Walker as the BSO Weston Law Enforcement Employee of the Month at the March 2, 2026 City Commission Meeting. After 34 years of proudly serving with both the Oakland Park Police Department, then through the merger with the Broward Sheriff’s Office, Les retired this past February. Les has been a dedicated member of the Weston District since 2003.
During his time in the Weston District, his duties included overseeing evidence submissions and the secure transport of sensitive documents throughout the agency. These are responsibilities that required absolute trust and integrity. Les carried out these duties with unwavering professionalism. But beyond his responsibilities, Les was always eager and willing to help, supporting the day-to-day district operations. He came to work each day with a positive attitude and demonstrated his desire to be part of the solution.
All who worked with Les noticed how structured, disciplined, and organized he is. He gained those great attributes from serving in the United States Army for 31 years. Les retired from the military as a Command Sergeant Major, the highest enlisted rank, and a testament to his leadership and character.
Captain Cavalieri personally thanked Les for his professionalism, loyalty, and friendship
