Excellence in Public Procurement & Best Practices Awards Program -- 2025 

Congratulations are in order for Director of Procurement Martha Perez-Garviso and Maria Bishop, Procurement Assistant.  Their tireless efforts over the past year, have paid off.  To receive an Award of Excellence in Public Procurement, an agency must meet a long list of stringent requirements, including: internal procurement policies and procedures, long-term strategic plans, procurement ordinances and/or policies that are public, education and professional development, criteria for source selection, have areas of direct responsibility, an auditing and continual process improvement program, utilization of automation and electronic commerce, and more. 

The work to meet the criteria for this award,

ultimately elevated the city’s best practices and procedures.

Congratulations! It is my pleasure to notify you that the City of Weston Procurement Department has received the FAPPO Award of Excellence in Public Procurement for 2025!

The Award of Excellence in Public Procurement was established to recognize organizational excellence in procurement.  It recognizes agencies that meet or exceed benchmarks and best practices in the Procurement Profession and is achieved by those organizations that obtain a high score on a rating of standardized criteria.  The program is designed to measure innovation, professionalism, e-procurement, productivity, and leadership attributes of the procurement function. The Excellence in Public Procurement Awards Program is sponsored by the Florida Association of Public Procurement Officials, Inc. (FAPPO). 

The City is one of only twenty-five (25) agencies to win the Award. You have truly distinguished yourself within the State, and this is an accomplishment to cherish. Congratulations on this well-deserved award!
