Community feedback is at the core of all we do. FDOT works with the public to balance their community vision with the community's transportation needs. This is routine on all our projects to ensure Florida's infrastructure is safe, resilient, and efficient for many years into the future. Notices are being sent to all property owners and tenants located within 300 feet of the project and to other public officials, regulatory agencies, organizations, and individuals that have expressed interest in the project.

The main takeaways to know:

  • Repave the existing I-595 roadway corridor (which includes I-595 Express lanes, I-595 general purpose
lanes, and State Road 84) to improve the resiliency of our infrastructure.
  • Replace and upgrade signs and pavement markings to meet current standards and increase reflectivity.
  • Create a smoother pavement surface to enhance safety.

CONSTRUCTION IMPACTS

  • Work will be done in phases to reduce impacts to the community.
  • No more than two lanes are anticipated to be closed at a time.
  • Roadway resurfacing will be performed at night.
  • Access to properties along the corridor will be maintained throughout construction.
