City Mulching Initiative Saves Resources and Protects Our Environment
Most municipalities load their tree trimmings into trucks and send them to a local landfill multiple times a day. The City of Weston, however, does things a little differently.
We trim trees year-round, creating tons of trimmings and clippings. Instead of sending that organic material to a local landfill, we make use of it right here in Weston as mulch for trees and flowerbeds. Our landscaping crews chip the branches on-site and disperse the mulch right back onto the tree beds. When they have extra, they store it until needed for flowerbeds around the city.
