The City of Weston is the winner of five awards from the Florida Festivals & Events Association's (FFEA) 2024 SUNsational Awards. The state-wide ceremony was hosted in August during FFEA's 30th annual convention and tradeshow. The awards program recognizes members' innovation, individuality and creative collaboration.  

On Monday, September 30, 2024, Suzanne Neve, CEO of the Florida Festivals and Events Assoc., presented the awards at the City Commission Meeting.  Representatives accepting the awards included Parks & Recreation staff, the Arts Council of Greater Weston and the Weston YMCA.

In her remarks, Ms. Neve stated, 'The FFEA SUNsational awards program celebrates those who go above and beyond in creating memorable experiences that bring community together. From innovative programming and outstanding marketing efforts to exceptional partnerships and volunteer management, these awards highlight the very best in our field.'

2023 Veterans Day Salute | 2nd Place - Promotional Item 

At the 2023 Veterans Day Salute event, hosted in partnership with the YMCA South Florida and the Weston YMCA Family Center, each veteran in attendance received a custom boxed hat and shirt.

2024 Weston World Fest | 2nd Place - Promotional Video or Video Recap 

The 2024 Weston World Fest video recap, produced by the City's Communications Department, showcases what the event is all about.

2024 Weston World Fest | 2nd Place - Multi Agency Collaborative Program 

The City of Weston collaborates with The Arts Council of Greater Weston to plan, host and manage the annual Weston World Fest event.

Weston@Play Parks and Recreation Guide | 1st Place - Program/Event Guide /Brochure 

Twice annually, Weston's Communications Department works with the Parks and Recreation Department to compile information and news about the seasonal events and programs in the Weston @Play Parks and Recreation guide, which is mailed to all the City's residents and made available online.
