About Juneteenth Freedom Day 

Also known as Juneteenth Independence Day, Freedom Day or Emancipation Day, Juneteenth combines June and 19, the day in which federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to inform enslaved African-Americans of their freedom. 

City Holiday Observance 

All City administrative offices (City Hall, Administrative Services Center, Weston Community Center, and Public Works Services Center) will be closed on Thursday, June 19 in observance of Juneteenth.

• City parks will be open. 
• There will be regular garbage and recycling service.
