Impressionism and Impasto
by Philip Mann

Come to the Weston Library, see the Everglades paintings and meet the artist!

 WHEN: Tuesday, March 16th 6:30 pm – 7:30pm

WHERE: Weston Branch Library (4205 Bonaventure Blvd. Weston FL 954-389-2098)

Philip Mann will present his work in person at the Weston Library at a special evening event on Tuesday, March 16 at 6:30pm. The artist will explain how he uses the impasto and impressionism  painting techniques  to produce dramatic landscapes – his unique  impressionist interpretation of the Everglades,  Florida Keys and South Florida.

Through his artwork, Philip tries to capture the beauty and essence of the Everglades – the grass, trees, birds, and their shades of bright and dark colors.   Working only with oils, Philip brings his individual style to what he sees when looking at mangroves, cypress trees, savannas and water birds.

He has traveled extensively to learn firsthand about the Impressionist artists and in this evening talk he will share his knowledge with the audience. Philip Mann studied art at Brooklyn College, New York, the University of Miami, Florida and with Florida artists during the art heyday of Grove House in Coconut Grove.

His paintings have been exhibited at Florida International University, Florida Memorial College, the Key Largo Library, the Miami Beach Botanical Gardens and the City of Pembroke Pines City Hall Glass Gallery. He is a member of the Weston Art Guild and a Weston resident.

This 21st century Renaissance man can be found during the day at Miami Shores' Barry University, where is known as Dr. Philip Man, Professor and  Director of the Entrepreneurial Institute.
