I-595 EXPRESS CORRIDOR TRAFFIC IMPACT REPORT: May 13 - 19, 2012

The eastbound on-ramp from SR 84 to eastbound I-595 west of the Sawgrass Expressway will be closed from 10 p.m. Tuesday, May 15 to 5 a.m. Wednesday, May 16.
One lane of westbound SR 84 at Flamingo Road will be closed nightly from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning Tuesday, May 15 and ending Friday, May 18.
One lane of Flamingo Road, in each direction, at the I-595 overpass will be closed nightly from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning Monday, May 14 and ending Friday, May 18.
The left turn lanes from southbound Flamingo Road to eastbound SR 84 will be partially closed through Wednesday, May 16.
The designated U-turns for both directions of SR 84 at Flamingo Road will be closed through Tuesday, July 3, 2012. Motorists will still be able to make the U-turn movements through the signalized intersection.
The off-ramp from westbound I-595 to westbound SR 84 at exit 1B Flamingo Road will be closed from 10 p.m. Monday, May 14 to 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 15.
The on-ramp from westbound SR 84 to westbound I-595 west of Hiatus Road will be closed from 10 p.m. Monday, May 14 to 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 15.
One lane of westbound I-595 between Hiatus Road and Flamingo Road will be closed from 9 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Monday, May 14 and two lanes will be closed from 11:30 p.m. May 14 to 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 15.
One lane of eastbound I-595 at Hiatus Road will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning Monday, May 14 and ending Friday, May 18.
One lane of westbound SR 84 between Hiatus Road and Flamingo Road will be closed from 9:30 p.m. May 14 to 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 15.
One lane of westbound SR 84 at Hiatus Road will be closed from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15.

One lane of eastbound SR 84 between Nob Hill Road and Pine Island Road will be closed nightly from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning Sunday, May 13 and ending Friday, May 18.
Pine Island Road, in both directions, at the I-595 overpass will be closed nightly from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning Monday, May 14 and ending Friday, May 18.

One lane of westbound I-595 between SR 7 / US 441 and Davie Road will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to midnight and three lanes will be closed nightly from midnight to 5 a.m. beginning Sunday, May 13 and ending Friday, May 18.
The ramp from westbound I-595 to Florida's Turnpike and westbound SR 84 will be closed nightly from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning Monday, May 14 and ending Wednesday, May 16.
One lane of the ramp from westbound I-595 to Florida's Turnpike and westbound SR 84 will be closed nightly from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning Wednesday, May 16 and ending Friday, May 18.

One lane of the ramp from eastbound I-595 to southbound SR 7 / US 441 will be closed from 10 p.m. Monday, May 14 to 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 15. All traffic on this ramp will be stopped for a period of fifteen minutes between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. on Tuesday, May 15.

New, 595 Express Bus Service to Start on May 29
Complimentary Rides for Passengers During First Week!

The new 595 Express will begin service on Tuesday, May 29^th, with two routes from the park-and-ride lot located at the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise; one to downtown Miami/Brickell Avenue and the other to downtown Fort Lauderdale, both traveling along I-595.

The Miami/Brickell route will make a stop at the Fort Lauderdale Airport Tri-Rail station with an additional park-and-ride. The Fort Lauderdale route will make three morning and afternoon reverse commute trips to and from Sawgrass Mills Mall. Service will operate approximately every 30 minutes on weekdays during morning and afternoon peak traffic hours.

Residential Water Meter Replacements - Cameron Lake

Starting May 7th water meters will begin being replaced in the Cameron Lake community. Hampton Lake, Fairfax Lake and Verona Lake will follow

On Tuesday, January 3, 2012, water meters in residential communities in the Indian Trace portions of Weston began being systematically replaced (this area does not include Bonaventure). This replacement program, in conjunction with the City of Sunrise which supplies water to Weston, will be ongoing over the next two years. Over 7,700 meters will be replaced in the first year.

FREE Hazardous Waste and Electronics Collections Event

Planning on doing a spring cleaning? When cleaning out closets and garages, put aside items that cannot be placed into the trash or put out for bulk pickup for the annual FREE Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Collection event.

Drop off your household hazardous waste and electronics items at the Weston Public Works Services Center (2599 South Post Road, Weston, FL - located on South Post Road between Manatee Isles Drive and Saddle Club Road) between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m on Sunday, May 20th.

Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) refers to used or leftover contents of consumer products that contain chemicals with one of the four characteristics: Toxic, Ignitable, Corrosive, or Reactive as defined by the Environmental Protection Agency.

What items are being accepted? Oil and latex paints and thinners, used motor oil, auto fluids and gasoline solvents, pesticides, fertilizers, pool chemicals, drain cleaners, tires, mercury, rechargeable & automobile batteries and electronics such as computers and televisions will be accepted.

AYSO Canned Food Drive 5/12 and 5/19

JOIN AYSO in their food drive to benefit Feeding South Florida.

Canned food is being accepted on Saturday, May 12th and Saturday 19th at the AYSO Soccer Building. Donations will be accepted between between 9am and 4pm and the building is located by soccer field 2 in the Weston Regional Park. No donation is too small! AYSO thanks you for your involvement and donations!

To qualify to run for election for a Commission Seat a person must be a resident of the Residential Area that he/she is running for, and have resided continuously within the Residential Area for which election is being sought for at least one year preceding the date of filing. Candidate Qualifying begins at Noon, Monday, June 4, 2012 and ends at Noon, Friday, June 8, 2012.

*Election for Mayor, for Seat 1 and Seat 2 is November 6, 2012.
