Arts Council

History
Formed in the summer of 2002 by greater Weston area residents interested in bringing
more arts and culture to Weston, a young City but mature enough to warrant a higher
quality of diverse activities focused on the arts and our different residents.
The concept for an Arts Council was born from the City of Weston as an intention
to coordinate arts and cultural event requests. The Arts Council of Greater Weston
is an independent not-for-profit corporation comprised of elected board members
representing varied backgrounds within the City of Weston.
Mission
The Arts Council of Greater Weston is organized for educational, cultural and charitable
purposes, to provide planning and oversight, and to support the diverse cultural
activities of the community in an effort to enhance the quality of life for all
residents of the City of Weston .
The Arts Council reviews requests for the City of Weston to participate as a sponsor.
Requests are to be sent to the Arts Council of Greater Weston. Upon approval of
the request, the Arts Council will forward a recommendation to the City of Weston
for the consideration of sponsorship. The City of Weston reserves the right to decline
sponsorship. An application can be downloaded below or may be obtained at the Weston
Community Center (inside Weston Regional Park ), corner of South Post Road and Saddle
Club Road . There is a $50.00 processing fee due with the completed application.
Please contact the Arts Council directly for more information on an Artist Directory,
