The Bicycle Master Plan will establish guidelines for Encouragement, Enforcement and Educational goals and policies that promote a bicycle friendly community, ultimately resulting in an improved bicycling experience throughout the City.  Upon completion of the Bicycle Master Plan, an application will be submitted to the Bicycle League of America to officially designate the City as a Bicycle Friendly Community.  The Bicycle League of America provides incentives, hands-on assistance, and award recognition for participating communities.  This designation will identify the City as a community that welcomes cyclists by providing safe accommodation for cycling and encouraging people to bike for transportation and recreation.
