City Commissioner Toby Feuer was elected to office in November 2010. Her community activities started in the New York City Public Schools in 1968, when she became involved in the Parent Teacher Association and the Parents Association eventually rising to President in each school (Elementary School and Junior High School respectively). When the School Boards became decentralized, she served on the Curriculum Committee of the District, as the liaison with teachers and principals, ensuring that the schools were meeting the academic needs of the children and providing extra-curricular activities.
